About the Challenge

Your opportunity to help us build better men.

As we celebrate the enduring legacy of Alpha Sigma Phi, the Founders Day Challenge stands as our cornerstone fundraiser for supporting the growth and success of our members and chapters. The Founders Day Challenge allows us to continue being the industry leader in educational programming across North American fraternities.

With our chapters hungry to grow and new groups joining our brotherhood every year, the need for resources has never been greater. By making a gift toward the Founders Day Challenge, you are allowing Alpha Sigma Phi to uphold its tradition of excellence and remain a guiding force in shaping the leaders of tomorrow.

How will this year's challenge work?

This year there will be three different opportunities for your chapter to complete

BRACKET CHALLENGE

64 chapters will compete in the Bracket Challenge until just one champion remains on December 6th. Additionally, 3nd and 4th place will face off in the Consolation Competition. The Bracket Competitors will be announced at 8PM EDT on Sunday, November 16th. Until then, your chapter's place is up for grabs! Here's how to get noticed by the selection committee:

  • Appoint a coach (see below). *Required*

  • Gifts from now through November 16th.

  • Past FDC performance.

REDEMPTION RUMBLE

Is your chapter competing in the Backet Challenge? Did your chapter not make the Final Four? Well, the challenge isn't over yet! New this year is our Redemption Rumble! Any chapter that competes in the Bracket Challenge and is eliminated before the Final Four will automatically be added to our Redemption Rumble on Founders Day. This competition will be based on points and money raised on Founders Day itself and will not carry over any points from the Round of 64 bracket, meaning Founders Day is a fresh start for everyone!

RISING STARS COMPETITION

Another competition brand new to this year's Founders Day Challenge is the Rising Stars Competition. This competition is for any chapter started/re-started within the past 10 years! No qualifications are needed other than being a new chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi. This competition allows for newer chapters with younger alumni to compete for additional Chapter Fund money. The Rising Stars Competition is a great way for younger chapters to help grow their Chapter Funds to increase their spendable balance year over year. Chapters in this competition are encouraged to have a chapter coach to organize their efforts among the alumni. This competition is based on points and money raised on Founders Day. Sign up or nominate a coach below!

Coaches

Lead your chapter to victory.

🎧 Calling all coaches!

Every year, we count on the support of a dedicated group of Alpha Sig alumni and volunteers to help our chapters compete in the Founders Day Challenge. A chapter needs to have at least one (1) coach to be considered for the Bracket Challenge. Sign up using this form to kickstart your chapter's efforts.

Here's what you can expect as a coach:

  • Support from Alpha Sig staff to reach as many alumni as possible.

  • Exclusive access to the Coach's Playbook, with resources for social media, sample communications, and insider tips from last year's top performing chapters.

  • An alumni contact list to help you invite others to support the challenge.

Make the check payable to: Alpha Sigma Phi Foundation and include the following information: Where to direct your gift (Area of Greatest Need, Chapter Fund, etc.).
